Comment Policy:

The staff behind the SILC Council social media sites are anxious to receive your feedback and comments on our articles. After all, that’s what social media is about. We intend to be courteous and professional in our postings and ask that you do the same. We maintain specific postings on Independent Living but we will not remove comments shared by those who have different viewpoints if they are present in a civilized manner. We would rather you post about it and engage us in a discussion.

Comments posted to our social Media sites will go through a moderation process, but should be posted within a reasonable amount of time provided they don’t contain content that:

• Is abusive

• Uses offensive language

• Is off-topic

• Is obviously spam

In addition, we are set up automatically hold any comment that contains more than two links. Feel free to post links in your comments, just realize we have this extra safety measure in place and it may take longer for your comment to be approved. All comments made on the SILC Social Media sites are the responsibility of the commenter, nto the owner, administrator, contributor, editor or author. By submitting a comment you agree that the comment content is your own and to hold our organization, MISIC, and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages or liability. For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos, you specifically give MISILC the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: You grant MISILC a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content what you post or in or in connection with Facebook. This IP license ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless you’re content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it.
