Nationwide Transportation Survey Results
Attached are the results of a survey, conducted this month by Transportation for America, gauging Americans' attitudes on transportation issues and their priorities for the next transportation bill. According to the poll, 79% of rural Americans believe that the US would benefit from an expanded and improved public transportation system.

OMB Teleconference on Recovery Act Reporting
On January 11th there was a conference call given by OMB on Recovery Act Funding. Attached is the audio of this call. (The call starts at about the 4 minute mark of the recording and runs about 1 hour 20 minutes)

Highlights of the call:
- OMB Issued new guidance on December 18th for 2nd quarter reporting.
- Recipients should no longer should be engaged in speculation. We are to report funded jobs or Jobs which were actually paid. The formula is (Hours worked via ARRA Recovery Act Funds / Hours of FTE Equivalent).
- New jobs calculation is NOT cumulative. It is done on a quarter by quarter basis. If a job is funded during this quarter it is counted, if not it should not be counted. Hours worked and paid for by recovery act fund are reported. Jobs funded with non-recovery funds will not be counted.
- To address the updated guidance and challenges of the Holidays, the federalreporting.gov will not include flags or indications between the 10th and the 15th for late. In effect there is now a 5 day grace period. (This quarter only, you can upload though the 15th) No reports can be uploaded after the 15th.
